Randy Pausch’s Lecture

The lecture was broken up into three parts: 1.My childhood dreams. 2. Enabling the dreams of others, and 3. Lessons learned: how you can achieve your dreams or enable the dreams of others.
The inphasis of "My childhood dreams" was the fact that children are always going to have childhood dream when they start school. You probably have heard children say "I want to be a doctor when I grow up," or I want to be a fireman, or even a lawyer. I the video he gives a list of things that he dreamed of being. One of which was to be Captain Cerk off of Star Track. But in the end he became an educator. One of the phrases he said about learning is Its all about the fundamental because if you don't know the them the fantsy stuff won't work.
The second topic he talks about was enabling the dreams of others. Basically helping others forefill there goals in life. It is our job as future educator and educators not to crush every students dream but to help them achieve tasks to there full potential.
He talks about a coach that coach him football that road him hard all through high school. He was tell another administrator about it. And the administrator told him some valuable information. He said, "That was a good thing because if you screw it up and no one is saying anything to you that means they've given up. Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
